Product workflow

LocalizeASO has two connected surfaces:

  • The dashboard for review queues, metadata, keywords, screenshot order, release notes, pricing, and optional App Store Connect submit convenience.
  • The Figma plugin for turning selected screenshot frames into reviewable copy proposals and applying approved text back into Figma.

The current product is not just a screenshot translation plugin. It is a review-first workflow for keeping App Store metadata, screenshots, keywords, pricing, and App Store Connect handoffs aligned across locales.

Main flow

  1. Select an existing App Store Connect app, or enter a known app id for BYO Agent workflows without ASC credentials.
  2. Connect App Store Connect when you want live store data or hosted submit convenience.
  3. Import ASO keywords for the app and its locales.
  4. Start metadata, keyword, screenshot, or pricing review jobs.
  5. Let LocalizeASO hosted AI or a BYO Codex/AI agent generate structured proposals.
  6. Review current values, agent proposals, keyword mapping, warnings, and diffs per locale, field, frame, or layer.
  7. Accept, reject, edit, or request another agent pass.
  8. After human approval, apply changes in Figma or drafts and submit through LocalizeASO hosted submit convenience or local asc.

What the dashboard manages

  • Optional App Store Connect credentials and app selection.
  • Metadata fields per locale.
  • Drafts before submit.
  • ASO keyword import, filtering, sorting, and preferred keyword flags.
  • Screenshot review, Figma apply handoffs, and ordering by locale and device size.
  • Release notes.
  • Subscription and in-app purchase price localization.
  • Agent proposal history, reviewer feedback, human approval receipts, and submit/schedule jobs with progress and completion status.

What the Figma plugin manages

  • Selected screenshot frames.
  • Source and target languages.
  • Glossary terms and custom instructions.
  • App Store Connect locale import when connected, or manual/BYO locales.
  • ASO keyword import into screenshot review context before proposal generation.
  • Review-job creation from selected frames.
  • Approved screenshot-copy apply back into Figma.

App Store field limits

LocalizeASO validates App Store metadata against the current in-app limits used by the codebase:

| Field | Limit | | --- | ---: | | Title | 30 characters | | Subtitle | 30 characters | | Keywords | 100 characters | | Promotional text | 170 characters | | Description | 4000 characters | | What’s new | 4000 characters | | Release notes | 4000 characters |

Locale coverage

The dashboard and plugin work with App Store locales such as en-US, de-DE, fr-FR, ja, ko, zh-Hans, and zh-Hant. Locale input is normalized, so imports can often resolve country names, country codes, language codes, and App Store locale codes.

Safe Submit Model

Most write operations are staged or reviewable first:

  • Metadata, keywords, screenshots, and pricing can be reviewed as structured proposals before writing.
  • Human approval is required before Figma apply, metadata draft apply, pricing schedule, status changes, or App Store Connect submit.
  • Submit jobs expose status and per-locale results.
  • Screenshot ordering changes are local until submitted.
  • Pricing schedules are tracked as jobs and can overwrite existing scheduled prices when requested.
